The Dart

This is my entry to the Dodge Dart Inspired By You contest here on DevArt

I decided on something that is very much me but still holds on to the feel of the car. Instead of just drawing the car and making it look pretty and new, I took it as a base for armour like clothing.

The front of the car serves as the helmet, with the wheels cupping the sides of the face. The are between the headlights is the "visor" like portion of the helmet, where she would see through.

I then decided to take it a bit further and add in shoulders and chest. The clothing is made to look like a rubber/leather style with the double stitching down the seams, as seen in the Dart. The chest plate was inspired by the back doors of the car.

I chose black and white with red to create a nice, sharp contrast, so that the piece flows as a whole but the car still stands out as that it what the piece is all about after all.

Done with water colour on watercolour paper.
